Cheektowaga Soccer Club Sportsmanship Policy |

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE. The Cheektowaga Soccer Club recognizes that youth soccer can be an exciting and rewarding sport to participate in, whether as a player, spectator, parents, coach or refereeing official. In order to promote the experience of all participants in the Cheektowaga Soccer Club all participants must abide by the following policy to maintain a courteous and professional atmosphere that reflects good sportsmanship at all times: POLICY. Disruptive and/or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated by any of the participants of activities sponsored by the Cheektowaga Soccer Club. Inappropriate and/ or disruptive behavior includes, but is not limited to: 1. Taunting players, coaches, officials or spectators by means of ridiculing, baiting, threatening physical violence, or physical violence. 2. Using obscene or vulgar language in a boisterous manner to anyone at any time. 3. Throwing any object into games or viewing areas that could create a distraction or create a safety hazard. 4. Harassment or intimidation of players, coaches, officials or spectators by means of hostile, threatening and/or abusive verbal or written comments. PROCEDURE. Activities, including games, practices, meetings, and any other Club-related functions may be stopped when disruptive and/or inappropriate behavior is displayed that has the potential to interfere with spectators or participants. During game or practice events, violators displaying inappropriate and/or disruptive behavior will be identified to coaches for the purpose of removing violators from the game/practice and viewing area, and this behavior will be reported to the Club’s Board of Directors in writing. During meetings or other Club-related functions, violators displaying inappropriate and/or disruptive behavior will be identified to the Club’s Board of Directors. A permanent record of violators and violations will be maintained by the Club’s Board of Directors. With respect to each violation, the violator will be subject to action as determined by the Board of Directors, which shall include any one or more of the following actions, depending on the severity of and the number of the violation(s). 1. Written warning; 2. Suspension from one or more Club matches, practices and/ or sponsored events; 3. Expulsion from the Club; 4. Prohibition from all future Club events; and 5. In the event the violator is a parent, legal guardian or relative of a player, the player, as well, shall be subject to any action(s) listed above. Violators may also be subject to further disciplinary action by the Cheektowaga Soccer Club, the local governing body, and/or the facility. The Club shall require all players and in the case of players under the age of (18) years, at least one legal guardian or parent to sign a copy of this policy, although the failure to obtain the signature of any player and/ or parent or legal guardian, shall not impair the binding nature of this policy. |
